God Sent Me to Jail

A few years ago, I started to feel that God was asking me to minister to women in the Hamilton County Jail. As the prompting grew stronger and more persistent, it dawned on me that if God wants me in the jail, He can get me there one way or another. I decided to go willingly and I’m so glad I did! If you have ever considered getting involved in jail ministry, please take a moment to watch my testimony.

Your Faith Has Healed You

Your Faith Has Healed You

Last night, we studied the story of the hemorrhaging woman who was healed when she merely touched the hem of Jesus’ garment. It’s a story I’ve heard so many times and one I’ve always loved, but I read it with new eyes this week as I prepared to discuss it with our group. After our study, as I slipped off to sleep, I couldn’t help but ponder the story and what I can learn from it.  (more…)

Say What?

Say What?

I’m sitting in a doctor’s office waiting room. Next to me, a woman is helping an elderly patient (presumably her mother) fill out the paper work.

In the couple of minutes I’ve been here, I’ve listened to this (a summary):

Daughter: Primary care physician?

Mother: WHAT?

Daughter: (LOUDER) PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN?

Daughter: Last tetanus shot?

Mother: WHAT?

Daughter: LAST TETANUS SHOT?

This carried on for several minutes, page by page. Then, I heard, “Is patient hard of hearing?”

Mother: WHAT?

Daughter: NEVERMIND.

That’s when I lost it. I’m not even sorry.
